Maruti Ertiga is a pretty dominating MPV with its aggressive pricing and the fact that it offers for less. Earlier, it came with two engine options but now only the 1.5L petrol is available. To further accumulate the sales, they also have a CNG variant that cut down the running costs by a margin. Its closest competitor, Mahindra Marazzo that offers more space and a powerful engine could not even come close to its sales. MG 360M vs Maruti Ertiga Design
The Indian car market is evolving at a rapid pace and newer products always attract the masses. Even if the carmaker is popular but their product seems dated, the sales tend to decrease. That is why they bring a mid-cycle facelift to revamp the sales. In this case, Ertiga is long due for another facelift. When we share our opinions on the MG 360M then it looks fresh and pleasing to the eyes.
MG first showcased the 360M at the 2020 Auto Expo and at the front, it gets a blacked-out honeycomb grille pattern, projector headlights with integrated LED daytime running lights and trapezoidal fog light pattern. If you look at the bumper design closely then it takes inspiration from the MG Hector Plus minus the faux skid plates at the front. The side profile surely looks longer than Ertiga and the rear packs in LED taillights with reflectors placed at the bottom part of the bumper. Overall, the design looks fresh but gives the van type vibes only. It will turn out good for private buyers who are looking more than Maruti Ertiga and even to the cab aggregators. A diesel engine is surely missed but we do believe that when MG plans to launch the MPV, it will come with the oil burner.
Sharing details on the design of Maruti Ertiga then this newer generation was first launched in 2018 and is based on the newer Heartect platform. It even scored 3 stars at the Global NCAP. The design is pretty basic with projector headlights at the front, chrome grille at the front, newly styled alloy wheels and the rear taillights taking inspiration from the letter L.
Features
Here, we will be sharing the top features MG 360M offers and are better than the Maruti Ertiga. The seating layout is 2+2+2 which means it is strictly a 6-seater and will seat both adults and children comfortably. It also offers a larger 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system and connected car technology. We expect wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to be offered with the 360M.
MG 360M also gets a cruise control which is not found on the Ertiga. Surprisingly, XL6 gets this feature and it is handy when you are driving on the highways. You also get an electric sunroof, power-adjustable driver's seat, tyre pressure monitoring system, rear disc brakes, rear disc brakes, electronic IRVM and more such features. We do believe that 360M will also get traction control as a feature.
