MG Comet EV Offline Bookings & Test Drives Started - Details
  • MG Comet EV offline bookings started at dealerships, online bookings to start from 15 May
  • Test drives of the EV commenced at dealerships
  • Launched at an introductory price of Rs 7.98 lakh (ex-showroom)

Last week, MG Motor India introduced the Comet EV, with an introductory starting price of 7.98 lakh (ex-showroom). As of right now, the brand has begun dispatching the vehicles to the showrooms and a few dealers have started accepting offline, unofficial bookings for the Comet EV. On May 15, the brand will begin accepting official and online bookings for the EV. Customers can now book the Comet EV at selected MG dealerships and take the EV for a test drive.

The MG Comet EV has a plethora of features. Only one variant's price has been initially disclosed by the brand; the prices of the other two variants will be released soon. The Comet EV has a peculiar design and compact dimensions. The EV's interior features two 10.25-inch touchscreen displays, one of which serves as the touchscreen infotainment system and the other as the instrument cluster. On the feature front, the EV has four speakers, steering-mounted controls, wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay, automated climate control, electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs, and more. The Comet EV has a number of safety features, including dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, day-and-night IRVMs, and a rear parking camera with sensors.

In terms of the EV's powertrain, a 17.3 kWh battery pack powers it. It is capable of producing 42 bhp of power and a maximum torque of 110 Nm. A single full charge of the Comet EV is said to extend its range by 230 kilometres. The 3.3 kW charger by the company can charge it from zero to 100% in seven hours and from 10% to 80% in five hours.
