Carmakers previously offered this feature only in their top-spec variants, but with increasing demand and competition, they are now offering panoramic sunroofs in their mid-spec and budget variants as well. KIA Syros HTK+ - Rs 11.5 Lakh

KIA Syros is the latest entrant in the sub-4 meter SUV segment. The Syros comes loaded with a plethora of features starting from the base model. Additionally, the mid-spec HTK+ variant of the SUV comes with a huge panoramic sunroof. The HTK+ variant is priced at Rs 11.5 lakh (ex-showroom), and the price tag makes it one of the most affordable SUVs with a panoramic sunroof in India. It comes with a 1.5-litre diesel engine and a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine option.

Tata Curvv Pure+ S - Rs 11.87 Lakh

The Tata Curvv Pure+ S variant comes with a voice-assisted panoramic sunroof. This makes it one of the most affordable mid-size SUVs to offer this feature. The Curvv Pure+ S variant also gets a 7-inch touchscreen by Harman, TPMS, rain-sensing wipers, auto headlamp, and 6-airbags, among other features. The Curvv comes with a 1.2-litre turbo petrol, a 1.5-litre diesel, and a 1.2-litre TGDi petrol engine.

MG Astor Shine - Rs 12.48 Lakh

To make the Astor more appealing to customers, JSW MG Motor India has updated the Astor lineup. The brand has updated the Shine variant of the SUV with a panoramic sunroof. The Shine variant also comes with touchscreen infotainment, wireless connectivity, 6-speakers, and keyless entry, among other features. The Astor is now available with a single 1.5-litre NA petrol engine with a 5-speed gearbox.

Mahindra XUV 3XO AX7 - Rs 12.57 Lakh

The Mahindra XUV 3XO was the first sub-4-meter SUV to get a panoramic sunroof. The XUV 3XO is the facelift of the XUV 300, and with the facelift, Mahindra has made this SUV a lot more feature-loaded compared to the previous model. The top-of-the-line AX7 variant of the XUV 3XO comes fitted with a panoramic sunroof and is priced at Rs 12.57 lakh (ex-showroom). This sub-4-metre SUV comes with other features such as dual-zone climate control, dual 10.25-inch screens, ADAS, wireless Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto, among other features.

Hyundai Creta EX(O) - Rs 12.97 Lakh

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has recently rejigged the features and variant lineup of its top-selling SUV, the Creta. The Hyundai Creta now offers a panoramic sunroof at an affordable price tag of Rs 12.97 lakh (Ex-showroom) with the new EX(O) variant. This new variant comes with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, manual climate control, and mounted controls, among other features. The Creta comes with three engine options: a 1.5-litre NA petrol, a 1.5-litre turbo petrol, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine.

KIA Seltos HTK(O) - Rs 12.99 Lakh

KIA Seltos is another mid-size SUV on the list, it offers a panoramic sunroof with the HTK(O) variant priced at Rs 12.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The HTK(O) variant comes with all-4 disc brakes, 6-airbags, an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a rear parking camera, among other features. The Seltos is one of the most popular mid-size SUVs available in the Indian market.

Verdict

Carmakers are offering sunroofs starting from the second or third base model. Increasing competition and demand have made the sunroof a more affordable feature. However, a sunroof is just a premium addition that enhances a vehicles appeal, yet customers are now prioritizing this feature over others.
