If you have adjustable steering in your car, you can easily shift its positions according to your comfort and driving convenience. Usually, there are two types of adjustments offered in a steering wheel- tilt and telescopic. Having this feature proves beneficial for long trips. But most carmakers offer this feature in mid or top-end variants of their models. So, it's not a bad deal to pay some extra amount for this feature.
Automatic Climate Control
There are two types of air condition system offered in modern cars- manual and automatic. A manual air conditioning system doesn't allow the driver to adjust the temperature at a particular degree and if you feel cold, you have to just switch off the AC manually because you get no auto-cut feature. On the other hand, if you have an automatic air condition system in your car, you just need to adjust its temperature once and afterwards it will automatically switch off the compressor when the cabin's temperature reaches to the desired degrees.
Electrochromic IRVM
Most people drive their cars keeping their headlamps on high beams which can impact your vision while driving suddenly. So, having electrochromic or auto-dimming IRVMs becomes very important in such scenarios. Electrochromic mirrors automatically dim their brightness by sensing light scenarios in the surroundings. This feature is also of high utility and you can spend some extra bucks to get it.
Rear Defogger and Wiper
Most carmakers are not offering rear defogger and wiper with the base model of their offerings now. It's because Indian car buyers don't count it as an important feature. In my opinion, a rear defogger and wiper are very important for driving in Indian road conditions which include excessive dust, smog in winter and water drops during rains. Here also, I'll suggest you upgrade to a higher variant if this feature is not available in the base model of a car you want to buy.
Ventilated Seats
There are two types of seats offered in modern cars- one with leatherette upholstery and another with fabric upholstery. Usually, we see leatherette seats in the mid or top-end variants of the cars. But sometimes these seats are not perforated which can make you uncomfortable by blocking the ventilation in the areas, which are in direct contact with the seats. So, I suggest you pay extra for this feature only if the upholstery on a car has ventilation functionality.
