MG Motors India announced a hike in prices of Hector, Hector Plus, and Gloster by Rs 50,000 making the SUVs more expensive than before.
Back in 2019, MG Motors introduced its first SUV, MG Hector in India and with the evolution of time, its range expanded with the launch of the ZS EV, Gloster, and the recently launched Astor. Astor is the petrol version of the ZS facelift sold globally. The car is aggressively priced against the likes of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Renault Duster, Nissan Kicks, and more.
MG recently introduced six and seven seater versions of the Hector. Gloster, Hector, and Hector Plus have received a hike in prices of up to Rs 50000. The Smart and Sharp variants of the Hector witnessed an increase of Rs. 8,000 whereas the dual-tone Sharp trim witnessed Rs. 50,000 more. MG now asks for a premium of Rs. 13.50 lakh for the entry-level trim and Rs. 19,36 lakh for the top-of-the-line model (ex-showroom).
Hector Plus Smart witnessed a hike in price of Rs 15,000 and the dual-tone Sharp gets Rs 42,000 more expensive than before. Hector Plus asks for a premium of Rs 15.39 lakhs and goes up to Rs 20 lakhs (ex-showroom). MG has revised the range of variants available with Hector Plus. Super six-seater 2.0-litre diesel manual and 1.5-litre Style petrol hybrid seven-seater has been discontinued.
Now let us give a glance at its flagship full-sized SUV, Gloster. The giant SUV competes against the likes of Ford Endeavour, Isuzu MU-X, Mahindra Alturas G4, and Toyota Fortuner. The top-end variant of the Gloster gets Rs 40,000 more expensive than before whereas the entry-level trim didn't receive a price hike. Gloster is priced between Rs. 29.98 lakh and Rs. 37.68 lakh (ex-showroom).

The British manufacturer, MG Motors owned by Chinas SAIC increased the prices of its SUVs - Hector and Hector Plus by up to Rs. 43,000 earlier this year and the price of Gloster received a hike in price by around Rs. 80,000 in the month of May 2021. It further expanded its SUV portfolio and launched a compact SUV, Astor in the market.
Just like Hyundai MG also introduces segment-first features with its car and comes with several creature comforts, and features. MG currently has four existing models on sale - Hector/Hector Plus, Gloster, ZS EV, and Astor. All four cars have their own presence in the market. MG has its own design language structured and built keeping in mind the youth. It uses advanced updated technology.
