MG Motors has officially launched its latest electric vehicle, the MG Windsor EV, marking the company's third EV offering after the MG ZS EV and MG Comet. What makes this EV stand out is its aggressive pricing, starting at Rs 9.99 lakh (introductory ex-showroom, pan-India). However, the most interesting feature is the innovative rental battery system. While customers will purchase the car, theyll need to pay an additional Rs 3.5 per km for battery usage.

MG Windsor EV: Exterior & Colour Options
The MG Windsor EV features a soft, friendly design with smooth edges and no sharp angles, making it look quite family-oriented. At the front, the car showcases oval-shaped headlamps and a shorter bumper. The front end includes C-shaped LED lights that almost connect but leave a slight gap. Below the headlamps, there's a diamond-shaped grille.
The body is long and sleek, with a smooth roofline leading to the back, where youll find parallelogram-shaped LED taillights with soft edges. A connecting LED strip spans across from the right taillight to the left, with the MG badge positioned in the middle and "Windsor" badging below.
This EV will come in four colour options: Turquoise Green, Pearl White, Clay Beige, and Starburst Black.

The MG Windsor EV is available in three variants: Excite, Exclusive, and Essence. The starting pricing is set quite competitively, but what grabs the most attention is the "Battery-as-a-Service" rental program. With this service, customers need to recharge the battery pack for a minimum of 1,500 km, costing Rs 5,250 (calculated at Rs 3.5 per km).
For early buyers, MG is offering some extra perks, including one year of free public charging and a lifetime battery warranty. Deliveries for this model will start around Dussehra. Under the hood, it features a 38 kWh battery that delivers 136 PS of power and 200 Nm of torque, paired with an automatic gearbox.
MG Windsor EV: Feature Details
On the features front, it boasts a 15.6-inch GrandView Touch Display, Wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, an 8.8-inch LCD Cluster, a 9-speaker Infinity Audio System, an Infinity View Glass Roof, ventilated front seats, cruise control, fully automatic temperature control, a wireless smartphone charger, and more.
In terms of safety, it includes 6 airbags, all 4 disc brakes, an electric parking brake with auto-hold, ISOFIX child seat anchors, ESP, hill-start assist, hill descent control, an emergency stop signal, a 360-degree camera, rear parking sensors, and more. While it doesnt have advanced driving assistance features, it covers essential safety elements to ensure a secure driving experience.
