Just a few days ago, we shared with you the spied images of the upcoming Toyota Yaris Facelift. Toyota Yaris is a good mid-size sedan that locks its horns against a lot of other C-segment sedans in India. The Yaris was first launched in our country in May 2018 and it is a very underrated car. Sadly it couldn't do wonders for the Japanese manufacturer in India. However, soon things are gonna change as Toyota has just launched the new Yaris Facelift in the Philippines. The new 2021 Toyota Yaris Facelift will be launched in India too very soon.
Before we begin, let me tell you that the Yaris is sold with different names in the international markets. For instance, it is known as Toyota Vios in South Asian markets such as the Philippines, China, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, etc. It is also known as Yaris Ativ in other markets like Thailand, etc. This is the mid-life update for the Yaris (Vios) and it has got minor cosmetic updates and also some new features have been added. However, it doesn't get any mechanical changes at all.
Talking about the changes, so it gets a new front fascia. The front profile houses the new all-LED headlamps with integrated daytime running LEDs. It also gets a newly designed grille with subtle chrome lining that resemble to connect both the headlamp units. The front bumper of the car has also been revised and it now gets bigger blacked-out air dams which resemble the Lexus' signature spindle grille and also Toyota Camry to a certain extent. Other changes to the front include a new L-shaped fog lamp assembly with LED foglamps and overall the car looks sportier than before.

The side profile of the car is exactly the same as the pre-lift model, save for the alloys which now get a dual-tone finish. The rear too doesn't sport any changes at all. Coming to the interior, so the new Yaris gets the same dashboard layout. Taking the centre-stage of the dashboard is a new 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainments system. This new-gen infotainment system supports both Android Auto as well as Apple CarPlay connectivity. It also gets a push start/stop button, roof-mounted AC vents, automatic climate control, Eco and Sport mode, etc. The safety features include ABS with EBD, up to 7 airbags, ESP, vehicle stability control (VSC), cruise control, etc.
Powering the new Yaris Facelift is a 1.3-litre and a 1.5-litre petrol engine in the Philippines. The 1.3-litre motor develops 98 PS of power and 123 Nm of torque while the 1.5-litre motor churns out 108 PS and 140 Nm. The 'Vios' comes mated to 5-speed manual gearbox as standard and the 1.5-litre motor also gets a 7-step CVT. The India-spec Yaris will also get the same 1.5-litre petrol engine with the exact same power and torque figures. However, it will come mated to a 6-speed manual and a 7-step CVT.
Lastly, talking about the price and India launch timeline, so the new Yaris Facelift is expected to hit the Indian showrooms in the first half of 2021. The facelifted Yaris has been launched in the Philippines with prices ranging between 671,000 Philippine Peso ( Rs.10.16 lakhs) to 1,056,000 Philippine Peso (Rs. 15.99 lakhs). It is available in six different colour options - Red Mica, Thermalyte, Alumina Jade, Black, Blackish Red Mica and Grayish Blue Mica. Currently, the BS6-compliant Toyota Yaris is priced between Rs. 8.86 lakhs - Rs. 14.30 lakhs, Ex-showroom Delhi.
