The second-generation model of the S-Cross was recently revealed by Suzuki. The new 2022 Suzuki S-Cross not only gets a new exterior design, but in addition to this, also features a new cabin and an all-new Global C platform. The car also gets a bigger turbocharged petrol engine and a better safety features list. The brand may launch the same car in the Indian market in the coming months. Here are all the details that you should know about this upcoming Maruti crossover in India. For starters, the new S-Cross gets a more aggressive and modern design with a bold front fascia. The car measures 4,300 mm in length, 1,785 mm in width, and 1,585 mm in height while the wheelbase is measured to be 2,600 mm. The dimensions are largely similar to the outgoing iteration of the car. Having said this, the car gets a piano-black grille at the front in addition to tri-beam LED elements. The front grille also gets a thick chrome strip. The lower half of the bumper looks aggressive and has a new fog lamp housing as well. The car rides on 17-inchh dual-tone five-spoke alloy wheels while the window line too gently slopes upwards complimented by a chrome garnish. The rear is largely dominated by new wraparound LED taillights and a large integrated roof spoiler. Just like the front, the rear bumper too gets silver skid plates.

The interiors of the car too feature a new layout along with a new instrument console and a better touchscreen infotainment system. The seats and the steering wheel remain largely similar to the current interactions. Apart from this, other changes include new central AC vents. On the features front, we expect the brand to offer heated front seats, LED headlights, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, keyless entry, leather seat upholstery, panoramic sunroof, a 360 degree parking camera and other modern driver assistance systems like traffic sign recognitions, autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, bindspot monitoring, lane departure prevention, and front and rear parking sensor.
This new version of the S-Cross gets a new 1.4-L Boosterjet petrol engine that churns out 127 hp and 235 Nm of peak torque output. This engine will get brand;s latest 48V mild-hybrid system. A six-speed manual as well as a 6-speed automatic gearbox will be offered with this engine. The car also boasts suzuki's AllGrip AWD system on select top-spec trims while it gets a claimed 0-100kph timing score of 9.5 secs. In India, the S-Cross features a 1.5-L petrol engine that also powers other cars like the Ertiga, XL6, Ciaz, and the Brezza.
