New-Gen Maruti Celerio Specifications
Even mechanically, the new Celerio won't be anything like the current model. Underpinning the new car will be the lightweight-yet-rigid HEARTECT platform that will be shared with the Swift as well as the Baleno. Engine options are likely to be shared with the WagonR, which means the new model would go on sale with a 1.0-litre K10C, three-cylinder petrol as well as a 1.2-litre K12M, four-cylinder petrol engine. The smaller engine could even get CNG variants. In the petrol format, the 1.0-litre and 1.2-litre K-Series engines output 67PS and 81PS, respectively. The engines will offer idle start-stop technology to boost fuel efficiency. That said, even though the new model will be India's most fuel-efficient petrol car, its mileage figures are yet to be revealed.
