The new generation Maruti Celerio has just gone on sale with prices starting at Rs 4.99 lakh. The new model is based on the much-publicized HEARTECT platform and bookings of the new model have been underway for a while for a token amount of Rs 11,000. The second-generation Celerio enters the market around 7 years after the launch of the first-generation model.

The new generation Maruti Celerio has gone on sale in as many as 7 variants - LXi, VXi, VXi AMT, ZXi, ZXi AMT, ZXi+ and ZXi+ AMT.

The entry-level LXi trim comes with idle start-stop system, gearshift indicator, 6 bottle holders, integrated front and rear headrests, manual aircon with pollen filter, power steering, ticket holder on driver-side sun-visor, door ajar warning alert, headlamp on warning, low fuel warning, ABS with EBD, and dual front airbags.
Meanwhile, the top-of-the-line ZXI+ variant features premium equipment like electric folding ORVMs, black-cladding on B Pillars, 15-inch black-painted alloy wheels, push-button start/stop, keyless entry, Smartplay Touchscreen infotainment unit, height-adjustable drivers seat, front fog lamps and steering-mounted audio controls.
New Generation Maruti Celerio Specs & Dimensions
Powering the new generation Maruti Celerio is the carmakers K10C 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine that outputs a maximum power of 68 PS and a peak torque of 89 Nm. The new model has become the countrys most fuel-efficient petrol car with a claimed fuel mileage of 26.68 kmpl for the VXI AMT version. Even ZXI AMT and ZXI+ AMT versions of the hatchback have a high claimed mileage of 26 kmpl, while all other variants offer 25.24 kmpl. For now, the hatchback has gone on sale only in petrol variant but a CNG version will be launched at a later stage.
The new model is 3,695 mm long, 1,655 mm wide and 1,555 mm tall. This makes the new car 55 mm wider than its predecessor while its wheelbase, at 2535 mm, is 10mm higher than before. The new car has a ground clearance of 170mm, which is 5mm higher than before. It has a fuel tank capacity of 32-litre, while its boot space, at 313-litre, is 78-litre higher than before.
Colours
The new generation Maruti Celerio is available in as many as six colour options among which will be Arctic White, Silky Silver, Solid Fire Red, Speedy Blue, Caffeine Brown and Glistening Grey.
