One of the most successful entry-level hatchbacks of India; the Maruti WagonR is set for a mild facelift in February 2022. We tell you what to expect in the new car.
Maruti Suzuki India is on a spree of new car launches. Along with the already set to launch new Vitara Brezza 2022 & Baleno 2022; a mild-facelifted WagonR shall also make it to the market in February 2022.
The new WagonR is expected to be a mid-life revamp rather than a completely new model. As our sources say, the new WagonR will embed more enhanced looks as per the new design language of Maruti.
As seen in the new design language by Maruti; WagonR facelift shall use tweaked styling cues on the outside. These might include subtle changes such as redesigned bumpers, new headlights & minor tweaks in the rear of the car.
It is also anticipated that the new car might come fitted with 15-inch alloy wheels as seen on the recently launched new Celerio. After the launch in 2019; WagonR has not seen any updates while the competition is already updated.

Although, no official information has been revealed about the facelift of WagonR we expect only mild changes to the interiors of the car. The dashboard is expected to be the same as fitted in the current WagonR. We expect only minor changes such as the use of new upholstery. Rest all of the interior layout shall remain the same. The new WagonR will continue to provide the same features as of the current car; including the hill-assist function, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto & a 7-inch touchscreen with reversre parking assist camera.
Under the hood there will be no changes & the new facelifted WagonR will be using the two engine options which include a 1.0 Lt 3-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol & a 1.2 Lt K-series naturally aspirated engine. Maruti will equip the lower variant with an OEM CNG kit. The CNG fitment has made WagonR a huge success in tier-1 cities.
Gearbox options will also remain the same. A 5-speed manual & a 5-speed AMT transmission will continue to be the workhorse of the new WagonR.
Maruti is also testing the WagonR EV which you can see in an exclusive video on your YouTube channel 91Wheels.
