Next-Gen 2023 Toyota Innova Spied On Test For The First Time!

The Toyota Innova is one of the best selling MPVs in the Indian market and is known to offer an extremely reliable, comfortable, and powerful setup. While it's been long since the Japanese carmaker introduced the current iteration of the Innova, the new version is long due. The test mule of the upcoming next-gen 2023 Toyota Innova was spied on test for the first time. Here are all the details about the upcoming Innova in the market.

Next-Gen 2023 Toyota Innova

Internally codenamed Project 560B, the new Innova is expected to be offered with a front-wheel-drive drivetrain while the engines might see a major update as well. Other noticeable changes include a new exterior design and new styling elements. To start with, the new 2023 Innova will be offered with new headlights and LED taillights while what we also see are larger alloy wheels with a new design. There are strong rumours that Toyota may not offer a diesel powertrain with the new Innova. The new Innova will first make its debut in the Thailand markets after which it will be introduced globally.

Needless to say, the new Innova will also offer a new and updated cabin that will boast improved space and comfort levels. We might also see a new digital instrument console, new steering wheel unit, updated seats, a bigger infotainment system and features like wireless charging and HUD with the new Innova. It is also expected that Toyota might drop the body-on-frame construction for the new Innova in favour of the new TNGA platform that will offer better comfort and a lighter build.

Next-Gen 2023 Toyota Innova

In the Indian market, the Innova is offered with two engine options that include a 2.4-L diesel motor and a 2.7-L naturally spire petrol engine. While the power output from these motors stands at 146 bhp and 164 bhp respectively, it is the diesel that offers a higher, 360 Nm of peak torque output as against the 245 Nm output from the petrol motor. Both these engines can be had with a 5-speed manual or a six-speed automatic gearbox.
