Skoda India is currently in charge of the India 2.0 corporate strategy and will launch a slew of cars in the market later this year. The Czechoslovakian car manufacturer will launch sedans and SUVs in the market in the next 12-18 months. With the upcoming Expo, Skoda will display as many as five new cars. Zac Hollis, the Director - Sales, Service and Marketing, Skoda Auto India confirmed to The Telegraph that the brand would showcase five upcoming cars at the Auto Expo. Lets then have a look at the line up of Skoda at 2020 Auto Expo:
Skoda Karoq
The most important model for Skod at 2020 Auto Expo will be the Karoq. It will be the first SUV from the Czech brand that will launch in 2020. Skoda will initially import the car as a completely built unit (CBU) and will later assemble the vehicle in India after importing it as Completely Knocked Down (CKD) kit. Karoq will launch in mid-2020.
Skoda Octavia VRS
Skoda will bring back the extremely popular Octavia VRS to the Indian market in 2020. After Skoda launched the Octavia VRS in 2017, the 250 units allotted for the Indian market sold out in just seven days. The new Octavia VRS will get powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that produces a maximum of 245 Bhp. It can do 0-100 km/h in just 6.6 seconds.
Skoda Rapid Facelift
Another model for Skoda at 2020 Auto Expo will be a major facelift of the Rapid. A heavily updated version of the Rapid was launched in the international market recently. Back in India, the current version of the mid-size sedan will get several updates in terms of looks and BS6 compliant engines. Skoda will reveal the upcoming Rapid at the 2020 Auto Expo. The car will not get a diesel engine anymore. A 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine will power it.
Skoda Superb facelift
Skoda will launch a facelifted version of the Superb in May this year. The car will get a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine under the hood. It will also get a host of styling changes. Skoda will reveal the India-spec product at the 2020 Auto Expo.
Skoda Vision X
After revealing the Vision X compact SUV at the Geneva Motor Show, Skoda will bring it to India this year. The concept SUV will take on the likes of the Hyundai Creta in the production guise.
