Skoda India, the European manufacturer is currently heading the India 2.0 strategy for the whole Volkswagen Group. Skoda will reveal a slew of vehicles at the 2020 Auto Expo that will start in a few days. Skoda has revealed all the vehicles officially that will be showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo, which is India's biggest automobile show. Here are all the details.
Skoda Vision IN
The Skoda Vision IN concept will be the first car to be based on the India-specific MQB-A0-IN platform. The all-new Indianised platform will form the base of many new and upcoming cars in the Indian market. It will take on the cars like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos in the Indian market. Expect a price tag of upwards of Rs 10 lakhs on the car. The Vision IN concept gets a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine that generates a maximum of 150 PS. The production version is likely to get a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbocharged engine that will produce about 115 PS of maximum power.
Skoda Octavia RS245
The high-performance sedan from Skoda will make a comeback to the Indian market in a new avatar. Last time when Skoda offered the car in the Indian market, the vehicle was sold out quickly. Skoda will launch the Octavia RS245 at the 2020 Auto Expo and it will be limited to just 200 units. It will come powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine that will develop a maximum power of 245 PS, which is why the digits are present in the name of the car too. The engine produces a maximum of 370 Nm of peak torque. It gets a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG automatic in the international markets. However, the Indian market is expected to only get the DSG version. It is a high-performance sedan and it can do 0-100 km/h in just 6.6 seconds. The speed is electronically limited to 249 km/h.
Skoda Superb FL
The Skoda Superb facelift will be launched in the Indian market by the middle of this year. The Superb gets a host of cosmetic updates including Matrix LED headlamps, a larger grille and revised bumpers at the front and the rear. The Superb has also become longer. It will be available only with a petrol engine and Skoda will discontinue the diesel engine option.
