Skoda Compact SUV Launch In January 2025
The upcoming Skoda compact SUV has been a frequent subject in spy shots, and recent sightings have provided clearer details of its front fascia. It features low-placed LED headlamps flanking a typical Skoda grille that extends to incorporate LED DRLs. Below this, there are air intakes, though fog lamps are notably absent. Unlike Skoda's sharp bodylines seen in other models, this SUV opts for a smoother design approach, similar to the Kushaq.
This departure might appeal to those preferring a simpler manufacturing and maintenance process. Expected to be under 4 meters in length, the rear sports typical Skoda tail lamps akin to the Kushaq, possibly housing a connected LED bar within the tailgate. The alloy wheels suggest a higher-spec model, and overall, the design aims to maintain Skoda's distinctive identity across its lineup. Taking cues from its larger sibling, the Skoda Kushaq, the upcoming top-tier models of the Skoda Compact SUV are poised to incorporate an array of advanced features.
Prospective buyers can look forward to a comprehensive 360-degree camera system for enhanced visibility, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, ventilated seats, a wireless charging pad, and TPMS among other amenities. The SUV is also expected to feature Level-2 ADAS and a fully digital instrument cluster, further elevating its appeal. Recent sightings suggest the inclusion of a 10.25-inch infotainment screen similar to that found on the Kushaq, hinting at a premium interior experience.

Powertrain Options
The upcoming Skoda compact SUV is set to be powered by a 1.0-liter, 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, delivering 115hp and 178Nm of torque. Buyers will have the choice between a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. Interestingly, Skoda has decided not to offer a diesel engine variant for this model in accordance with its strategy for the Indian market.
With the price expected to start at Rs. 8 lakhs ex-showroom, it will give a tough time to other players in the segment like Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, and more.
