New cars and manufacturer's warranty go hand in hand. The warranty offers a piece of mind to the customers and serves as a savour when a manufacturing defect pops up in the vehicle. In that case, all the costs involved in the resolution of the issues are borne by the car companies. In line with this, Skoda India has started a new 'Anytime Warranty' scheme for its existing customers. This allows for a warranty extension for 1 year or 20,000 kilometres, whichever is earlier, however, the vehicle should meet some preset condition to be eligible for this new plan.
Skoda 'Anytime Warranty': Details
In order to offer a complete peace of mind experience to its customers, Skoda India's new 'Anytime Warranty' Scheme provides additional coverage of 1 year/ 20,000 kilometres, whichever is earlier. This warranty can be availed multiple times until the threshold of 8 years or 1,50,000 kilometres is met. Everything good comes with its own set of conditions and the same case applies to this new warranty scheme as well. Vehicles less than the age of 2525 days or should have clocked less than 1,30,000 kilometres are eligible for this warranty extension.
Skoda 'Anytime Warranty': Benefits and Pricing
The benefits of the 'Anytime Warranty' scheme include a 100% manufacturer's warranty, transferable to the second owner, protection against unexpected repair costs and EMI options to purchase this scheme among others. Talking about the pricing, the cost of warranty extension depends on a number of factors, ranging from vehicle model, fuel type and age slab. The price range of warranty extension under this new scheme starts from Rs. 13,999 for the Rapid Petrol, going all the way up to Rs. 64,999 for the Kodiaq Diesel. The 'Anytime Warranty' can be also opted for even after the expiry of the standard/ extended warranty.
Verdict: Skoda India's new 'Anytime Warranty' program is a huge customer-oriented move as it will help to improve the ownership experience of existing car owners. Before introducing India 2.0 program which is based on the new MQB A0 IN platform, Skoda cars were often associated with their notorious reliability and random high costing part failures were a nightmare for the owners. Having said that, Skoda's new step will help to establish trust amongst prospective customers, along with retaining its existing customers.
