Skoda Kodiaq Facelift Mid-2025 Launch Confirmed
The Skoda Kodiaq Facelift was launched overseas last year and was due for an upgrade in India. Now, it is confirmed that this updated model will be making its debut in the Subcontinent by mid-next year. In a recent interview, Mr. Petr Janeba, Skoda India brand director, revealed how and when this would be taking place. Skoda plans to introduce the new-generation Kodiaq in India through the CKD route, citing complexities in homologating parts to meet local regulations as the reason for the delay. They are designing new container racks to efficiently transport components for the right-hand drive version, emphasizing the need for precise planning due to the model's completely new design. Currently, the Kodiaq has been showcased only in left-hand drive, with testing underway for the right-hand drive variant in India, recently spotted undisguised during testing.
Interior And Features
The upcoming model boasts an impressive lineup of features including a 13-inch touchscreen paired with a 10-inch digital display with voice control. It also offers wireless phone charging, ambient lighting, a premium 12-speaker sound system, a hands-free tailgate, heated seats, and a heads-up display, complemented by a panoramic sunroof for added luxury.
On the safety front, you get electronic stability control, cruise control, and a comprehensive suite of nine airbags. It will also feature front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, and TPMS. Notably, the model is anticipated to include Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). The interior design mirrors that of its international counterpart currently in use overseas.

Powertrain
Skoda has confirmed that the Kodiaq will retain its current powertrain configuration, featuring a 2.0-liter turbo-petrol engine delivering 190hp and 320Nm of torque. This engine will be paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, providing power to all four wheels. However, internationally it now also gets a Plug-in hybrid mill which integrates a 1.5-liter TSI engine with a 25.7kWh battery pack and an electric motor. This setup delivers a combined output of 204PS and offers an electric range of approximately 100km. However, it is unlikely to make it to the Indian markets.
The launch will take place around June 2025 where it will continue to rival the likes of MG Gloster, Toyota Fortuner, Jeep Meridian, and other big-size SUVs. With this update, expect a price hike to accompany the facelift model as well.
