Skoda India Auto has started the deliveries of the performance-oriented sedan, Octavia RS 245 in India. Skoda has sold out all the 200 units of the sedan and the prices for the same starts at Rs 35.99 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.

Skoda Octavia RS 245 comes with a front-wheel-drive setup and packs a 2.0L turbocharged petrol engine under the hood. This unit makes 245 bhp along with 370 Nm of peak torque. This one makes a special case since this is a direct CBU (Completely Built Unit).
When compared with the earlier RS230, this new unit makes 15 bhp more power and 20 Nm extra torque than before. Also, the suspension is tuned with that of Euro-spec model and now comes in bigger alloy wheels. It remains to be seen if the lower ground clearance will make a hindrance on Indian roads.
Sharing more details on the updated Octavia RS245 then this unit comes with a swift 7-speed DSG gearbox and does 0-100 km/h sprint in a flat 6.6 seconds. The top speed gets limited to 250 km/h only.
The cabin packs in an all-black theme and Alcantara leather upholstery. It gets RS badging on the steering wheel, dashboard and some parts of the exteriors. A 20.32 cm touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Dual-zone climate control, virtual cockpit, electrically adjustable driver's seat are some of its features.

In other news, Skoda will also launch the Rapid, Kodiaq and Superb facelift post lockdown. Also, the mid-size SUV, Skoda Karoq will also be launched soon and will come in a single trim with 7 colour options. It packs a sole 1.5L petrol motor and will rival Jeep Compass, Hyundai Tucson and Volkswagen T-Roc. The prices will see north of Rs 20 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.
