Skoda has been pulling up its game strongly in the Indian market and bringing in products which suit the Indian buyer's needs as well as budget. And to continue its offering in the market, Skoda will launch the Octavia vRS at the 2020 Auto Expo.
Yep, the performance-oriented Skoda Octavia vRS is due for launch at the 2020 Auto Expo and it will be limited to 200 units only. This will be a European spec car which will be brought down via CBU route. Please note, the Octavia RS230 was launched in 2018 and was limited to 300 units only. However, the demand was such that those units were sold quickly and manufacturers had to bring in another 200 units. Surprisingly, that too was sold and Skoda decided to discontinue the sedan.
Sharing more details about the European spec Octavia vRS 245 then it gets a 2.0-litre, turbocharged petrol engine. This motor churns out 242 bhp along with a maximum torque of 370 Nm (It is 15 bhp and 20 Nm more than the RS230). A 6-speed manual and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic are offered but the India spec model will receive the latter one.

The power is well received by front wheels and it also comes with limited-slip differential. Skoda claims that the 0-100km/h sprint can be achieved in 6.6 seconds and top speed is limited to 250 km/h. Knowing that this model is a full import, the ride will receive a stiff suspension and lower ground clearance.
Aesthetically too, the vRS245 differentiates itself from the RS230. This model receives larger wheels, sportier bumpers and faux diffuser at the rear. Like the RS230, it'll continue with an all-black interior. Red stitching will be observed in the leather upholstery, steering wheel and more. The RS badging will be seen on the exterior and interiors.

We expect a fully digital instrument cluster to come onboard. And a large touchscreen infotainment system which will host connectivity features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The locally manufactured Octavia RS230 (now discontinued) came with a price tag of Rs 25.12 lakh. And this full import is expected to be priced close to Rs 40 lakh. Now, this may seem to be quite pricey but would the petrolheads mind shelling out more for a CBU? We will find that out when it gets launched. All prices stick to ex-showroom, Delhi.
