Tata Motors seems to be planning to launch its sporty hatchback the Altroz Racer. The brand has showcased the sporty avatar of the Altroz at the Auto Expo Motor Show and recently at the Bharat Mobility Expo. Tata Altroz Racer - What's Different?
The upcoming Altroz Racer will be the sporty iteration of the Altroz hatchback. The car showcased at the Bharat Mobility Expo recently, boasted dual-tone paint with an Orange body and Black roof and bonet with white racing stripes on the hood and roof. To further enhance the look the version was fitted with dual-tone matte black multi-spoke alloy wheels and blacked-out headlamps, tail lamps, and roof spoiler.
The version also boasted a new colour scheme on the inside with black and orange highlights on the leatherette seats and racer badging on the seats. As for the features, we expect the production-spec version to get a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, 360-degree camera, and front ventilated seats among other features in the Altroz Racer edition. Additionally, an electric sunroof will be available in the Altroz Racer edition.
Tata Altroz Racer Engine Specifications
The major highlight of the Racer edition will be the 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine which produces 120 bhp of power and 170 Nm of peak torque. This engine is expected to get a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic (DCA) transmission and a manual transmission is also expected.

Verdict
The Tata Altroz Racer will be in direct competition with the Hyundai i20 N Line and the Maruti Suzuki Fronx turbo petrol engine options. The Altroz Racer will feature some segment first feature which will give it an edge over its competition. The pricing is expected to start from Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom).
