Tata Motors seems to be gearing up for the Harrier EV launch now. The automaker was recently spotted testing the AWD E-SUV at the Coimbatore performance track. The test runs seem final as the electric SUV's launch now looks very close. However, the electrified Harrier looks like a traditional Tata to some extent, but it could offer more performance than its rivals. Tata Harrier Spotted on Performance Test
The company has been engaged in conducting performance testing of the Harrier EV. The track testing of the upcoming Harrier may not sound good to you but do note that the Harrier EV will carry a massive battery pack and a dual motor setup, providing it with All-Wheel Drive capabilities. So, the electrified Harrier would have the potential to be run on a performance track. The Harrier EV is expected to beat the Mahindra XEV 9e on its performance which stands at an impressive 286 PS and 380 Nm and enables it to accelerate from 0-100 kmph in just 6.8 seconds.
Tata Harrier EV: Capabilities
Tata Harrier EV is expected to be a much more potent vehicle when compared to the competition. Taking a look at the spy shots, we saw a rear electric motor and a new suspension which might improve the vehicle's off-roading capabilities. The Harrier will also get the brand's recently patented Terrain Response dial which has modes like Normal, Ruts, Mud, Desert, Rocky, Snow and Rough. There are expectations that the E-SUV will get semi-active dampers to help ace any terrain.
Design
The Harrier EV looks largely similar to its ICE counterpart. However, the electric version will have some unique design elements such as closed-off grille and aerodynamic alloy wheels of up to 19 inches. From inside, we are expecting the Harrier EV to get almost the same layout as its ICE version.
