Tata Punch i-CNG and Altroz i-CNG: What's New?
In terms of exterior design, both vehicles remain the same and have hardly any visible differences compared to their regular petrol-powered counterparts. The biggest highlight of the Punch i-CNG and Altroz i-CNG is the new twin-cylinder CNG technology. This new technology solves the most fundamental problem with CNG cars, i.e. the boot space getting occupied by the CNG cylinder, thereby leaving no room for luggage.
So with the help of this new twin-cylinder technology, Tata Motors has managed to save boot space and now the customers can utilize it according to their requirements. The spare wheel is now placed underneath the vehicle and the twin cylinder (30+30 litres, same as before) are well-adjusted under the boot floor.
Tata Punch i-CNG and Altroz i-CNG: New Features and Powertrain
The highlight of the Tata Punch i-CNG and Altroz i-CNG in the feature department is the addition of an electric sunroof. Apart from this, everything else in the equipment kit remains the same. Tata Motors could also give the sunroof in both the four-wheeler's petrol-powered counterparts as well, however, nothing is confirmed as of now.
Under the hood, both vehicles will likely use the same set of powertrain options as the Tiago i-CNG and Tigor i-CNG. The Revotron 1.2 litre 3-cylinder petrol engine puts out 73.4 bhp and 95 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
