Top 5 Reasons To Wait For The Upcoming Tata Altroz Racer
  • Tata Motors showcased the Altroz Racer in 2023 Auto Expo
  • Altroz Racer will be more powerful variant of the Altroz with more features and updated engine
  • Will be launched soon and will compete with the Hyundai i20 N Line

With the presentation of a multitude of new vehicles, Tata Motors has taken the 2023 Auto Expo motor show with a stir. The performance-focused Altroz variant known as the Tata Altroz Racer is one of these brand-new models. In comparison to the standard variations, the Altroz Racer will be the most powerful version of the Altroz with a new engine and additional features. The company has confirmed that the launch of the Altroz racer is imminent. We'll look at the key reasons in this article for waiting for purchasing the new Tata Altroz Racer performance hatch.

New Powerful Engine

Tata Altroz Racer

The Tata Altroz already has a turbocharged 1.2-liter petrol engine that produces 140 Nm of maximum torque and 108 bhp of power. Tata will use the Nexon's 1.2-liter turbocharged engine, which generates 120 bhp of power and 170 Nm of maximum torque, in the new Altroz Racer. The Racer edition will generate much more power and torque than the ordinary version. Additionally, a 6-speed manual transmission will be used in place of a 5-speed manual transmission to drive the new engine. The new power and torque numbers are comparable to the Hyundai i20 N Line, the closest rival, which generates 118 bhp of power and 172 Nm of peak torque.

New Exterior & Interior Paint Scheme

The vehicle on display at the Auto Expo motor show has a unique livery from the standard models. It receives a two-tone paint job with white lines running across the roof from the centre of the bonnet outward. The lower profile of the car is painted red, and the bonnet, top, and tailgate are all blacked out. Additionally, the wheels have been painted black to give it a sportier look. A roof spoiler is also added to the rear appearance.  The Altroz racer's interior is decorated with a granite black colour with red accents, racer-branded headrests, red ambient lighting, and numerous other red accents to increase its sportiness.

More Features

The Altroz Racer model has wireless charging, an electric sunroof, a digital instrument cluster, and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Additionally, the new Altroz Racer comes with front-ventilated seats and an air purifier. These extra features represent several significant improvements above the standard. It receives a 5-star safety rating and has six airbags, making it the safest hatchback in its class.

Pricing & Launch

Tata Motors has not yet revealed the launch date of the Altroz Racer but in a reply to a social media post the brand has confirmed that the vehicle will be launched soon. The brand is known for competitive pricing and with this we expect the prices to start at Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom). At this price point the Altroz Racer will be a good option for people who want a hot hatch with powerful engine and a good number of features.

Rivals

In India, the only performance-oriented hatchback currently on the market is the Hyundai i20 N Line. The performance and features of the Altroz Racer are on par with those of the i20 N Line, making it a strong competitor. Hyundai currently sells the i20 N Line between Rs. 9.99 lakh and Rs. 12.10 lakh (ex-showroom). To put up a fight, Tata might maintain the prices a little low.

Verdict: Tata Motors will be able to battle strongly with the Hyundai i20 N Line thanks to the new Racer Edition of the Altroz. The i20 N Line is the only hot hatch available in India, but it will soon have a rival, ending its dominance of the market for hot hatches in the country.
