Honda City Hybrid

The fifth-gen Honda City is one of the most comfortable sedans in the segment and offers a feature-rich and premium cabin. The brand is working on a hybrid model for the Indian market, and once launched, the Honda CIty hybrid is expected to be the first mass-market hybrid car to be sold in the Indian market. The car is likely to be powered by a 1.5-L Atkinson-cycle petrol engine that will be mated to an integrated starter generator (ISG). While the engine will boast a maximum power output of 98 hp, a second electric motor will deliver close to 109 hp. The Honda City is expected to run on pure EV mode as well as purely on the engine. A combination of electric-combustion power too will be on offer. This will not only help the car deliver supreme fuel economy figures, but will also reduce emissions by a fair margin. Needless to say, the powertrain will be extremely refined and the buyers will definitely appreciate the overall package that Honda has to offer with the new Honda City hybrid.

Skoda Slavia
Launch: Feb 2022
Engine: 1.0-L TSI, 1.5-L TSI
Expected Starting Price: INR 12 lakh (ex-showroom)
The Skoda Slavia is the first sedan to be based on the brand's latest MQB A0-IN platform that also underpins the recently launched Skoda Kushaq. This new sedan will be replacing the Rapid in the brand's line-up and will be powered by two engine options that include the 1.0-L TSI and the 1.5-L TSI. Both these engines will be available with manual as well as automatic gearboxes. The Slavia will also offer a feature-rich cabin that will boast features like wireless charging, connected car tech, auto climate control, ventilated seats, digital instrument console, etc. While the brand will officially unveil the car on November 18, the buyers can only buy this car in the early months of 2022.

Toyota Camry Facelift
Expected Launch: Mid 2022
Engine: 2.5-L Petrol Hybrid
Expected Starting Price: INR 35 lakh (ex-showroom)
The Toyota Camry is one of the most fuel-efficient sedans on sale and offers impressive space and comfort inside the cabin. The car will soon get a mid-life facelift that will introduce a number of changes to the design and the features list. The mechanicals of the car, however, will remain similar to the present model and the Camry will continue to be powered by a 2.5-L Hybrid petrol powertrain that delivers a combined power output of 218 hp. A CVT gearbox comes mated to this setup. The new facelift Camry will get a new front styling, new alloy wheels and some other changes to give it a fresh look. Inside, the buyers will get a new 9.0-inch touchscreen system with an updated user interface.

Mercedes-Benz C-Class
Expected Launch: Late 2022
Engine: 2.0-L Petrol, 2.0-L Diesel
Expected Starting Price: INR 45 lakh (ex-showroom)
The new sixth-gen model of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class will go on sale in the second half of 2022 and will feature a 25 mm longer wheelbase apart from a long list of other changes that make it much better than the present model. the car will feature a more aggressive design, an upgraded cabin and a new dashboard layout. The car will be powered by a 2.0-L diesel and a 2.0-L petrol engine that will feature a 48V belt-integrated starter generator as a standard part of the package. The car will take on the rivals like the BMW 3 Series, Audi A4, and the Jaguar XE.

VW Virtus
Expected Launch: April 2022
Engine: 1.0-L TSI, 1.5-L TSI
Expected Starting Price: INR 12 lakh (ex-showroom)
Just like the Skoda Slavia, the VW Virtus too will be based on the latest MQB A0-IN platform and will be replacing the Vento in the brand's line-up. A sharp design along with a spacious and feature-rich cabin will make the Virtus a strong rival to the cars like Honda City, Skoda Slavia, Hyundai Verna, and the Maruti Ciaz. The car will be sharing its engine options with the Taigun and will get a 115 hp 1.0-L TSI engine and a 150 hp 1.5-L TSI engine. The car is expected to go on sale in the first half of 2022.

Bonus
Mercedes-Maybach S-Class
Expected Launch: Early 2022
Engine: 4.0-L Petrol, 6.0-L Petrol
Expected Starting Price: INR 2 Crore (ex-showroom)
The new Mercedes-Benz S-Class Mayback is one of the most expensive cars in the brand lineup and will be launched early next year. The car will not only offer larger dimensions but in addition to this, also offer reclining individual executive rear seats with an integrated massager as standard. In addition to this, there will be a long list of other features that will be on offer with the car. Powering the car will be a 4.0-L twin-turbo V8 engine that will churn out 500 hp. The buyers can also upgrade to the S 680 that will feature a 612 hp, 6.0-L V12 engine and will be brought to Inda via the CBU route.
