Toyota and Suzuki are now global partners and as a result, we get to see the effect of this partnership on Maruti Suzuki and Toyota Kirloskar Motor too. Toyota already has the re-branded Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Vitara Brezza in its portfolio as the Glanza and Urban Cruiser respectively. Soon, the Ciaz-based Toyota Belta will go on sale in India and now the Toyota WagonR has been spied on test for the first time ever. Here are all the details about it.
Toyota WagonR - What are the Changes?
The Toyota WagonR has been recently spied on test in the Delhi-NCR region of the country. The spied test mule of the car doesn't look exactly the same as the Maruti WagonR currently on sale in India. Instead, it looks identical to the Maruti Suzuki WagonR EV/XL5 that has also been spotted doing test rounds multiple times in India. So, the Toyota WagonR gets a completely new front fascia with Toyota badging, new LED headlamps and taillamps, new alloy wheels and tweaked bumpers with some other minor changes.

Toyota WagonR - Engine Specification; ICE or Electric?
The person who spied the new Toyota WagonR doing test rounds says in the above-embedded video that he heard the engine sound of the car. This hints that it will get the same engines as the WagonR, namely the BS6 compliant 1.0-litre and 1.2-litre mill. The 1.0-litre petrol motor churns out 67 PS of power and 90 Nm of torque. The 1.2-litre petrol motor churns out 83 PS of power and 113 Nm of torque. Both the engines of the WagonR come mated to a 5-speed manual as well as an AMT gearbox (AGS in Maruti's words).

However, if we closely inspect this video, it can be seen that the exhaust pipe of the car isn't clearly visible and thus it can be the electric WagonR with Toyota badging. The engine specs of this car aren't known yet but we expect it to feature a lithium-ion battery pack that can deliver up to 180-200 kilometres of range on a single charge. What do you think, is it an ICE car or the electrified version of the WagonR with Toyota badging? Do feel free to share your thoughts and opinions with all of us in the comments section below.
