One of the safest sedans in its segment, Yaris is being offered with a hefty discount of Rs 65,000 and we wonder if Toyota is making way for the upcoming Belta. Yes, maybe the Japanese carmaker is offering a huge discount to clear out the already produced stocks so the Belta can take over.

Toyota Yaris is offered with a 1.5-litre, naturally aspirated petrol engine. This unit pumps out 106 bhp with 140 Nm of peak torque. This engine is mated to a 6-speed stick shift and an optional CVT unit.

Now, coming to the Belta then with the Maruti-Toyota alliance, Toyota will be using the cars from Maruti and selling them as rebadged versions while Maruti will be sharing the hybrid technologies that Toyota has to offer. Till now, Toyota has brought two products into the mass segment market, Glanza and Urban Cruiser. They are rebadged version of the Baleno and Vitara Brezza.
Toyota Belta will be a rebadged version of the Ciaz and will be powered by a 1.5L naturally aspirated BS6 compliant petrol engine. Under the hood, this one carries 103 bhp with 138 Nm of peak torque and this unit is mated to a 5-speed manual and an optional 4-speed torque converter. We can expect an updated styling for the Belta along with an additional warranty period.
Toyota is also offering good discounts on the Glanza and Urban Cruiser. The offer on the former sticks to Rs 30,000 that includes Rs 10,000 as cash, Rs 18,000 as exchange and another Rs 2,000 as corporate. The Urban Cruiser based on Maruti Brezza is being offered just Rs 20,000 as an exchange bonus.

There is no discount on the popular Toyota models like the Innova Crysta and Fortuner. These are the evergreen models that contribute to larger sales for the carmaker.
