The upcoming bobber motorcycle Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 has been spied testing yet again. Read details below in our story.
It has been making quite a buzz since some time now but the recent spy shots of the upcoming 2022 Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 have portrayed its near production-ready form.
The fact that Royal Enfield is developing a series of motorcycles based on the 650 twins is not hidden anymore. The upcoming series of products shall include a cruiser, a classic, and a bobber-based motorcycle. The bobber-based version has been badged as the Shotgun 650 as per the sources over the internet. We've already showcased the pre-testing mules of Shotgun 650 being spied over the road in our stories. The latest spy shots reveal the near production-ready form of the bobber motorcycle.
Royal Enfield Shotgun Design
Complying with the bobber motorcycle design characteristics, the upcoming Shotgun 650 has been designed in a low-slung manner. Wide handlebars, round headlight, bulky front forks, aluminum finished switchgear has been nicely incorporated with the teardrop-shaped fuel tank.
The side profile shows how closely the production version has been designed by keeping in mind the concept version showcased by Royal Enfield. Twin exhausts with a little upright position (unlike the Interceptor and GT version), blacked-out engine and exhausts, front set footpegs are readily visible in the production-ready design.
This bobber version gets the twin handstitched split-seat set up for completing the aesthetics of bobber design. At the rear also, one can witness the Meteor-like tail light with round indicators and an overall low slanting rear-end design. This low-slung design at the rear incorporates well with the fat rear tyre.
Another major thing to notice is the alloy wheels which could mean the Shotgun 650 might come with factory-fitted tubeless tyres. For the current 650 owners, tubed tyres are a big problem that Royal Enfield could resolve via giving the option of alloy wheels in near future to the existing 650 owners.
Shotgun 650 Features
Over the features front, the Shotgun will use the semi-digital instrument cluster which is inspired by the Meteor 350. This instrument cluster will incorporate various data required while riding such as gear indicator, two trip meters, average speed and fuel economy.
This new instrument cluster is also expected to feature a tripper navigation system which shall possess the turn-by-turn navigation for the rider. Twin disc brakes with dual-channel ABS are expected to be carried away from the current 650 twins. A Bluetooth connectivity is also expected to be featured on this upcoming bobber motorcycle.

Shotgun 650 Engine & Specifications
Royal Enfield will be using the same 650cc, parallel-twin engine from the Interceptor and GT to power the Shotgun 650 as well. This engine has already proven its credentials globally in terms of performance as well as in reliability.
This engine produces a peak power of 47 Ps and a peak torque of 52 Nm. A 6-speed constant mesh gearbox is used to power the Shotgun 650. We do not expect many changes in terms of performance as compared to the current 650 twins. Although, Royal Enfield might play with gear ratios a little bit to adjust the engine with the new design and riding dynamics.
Shotgun 650 Price & Launch
The production-ready test mule indicates that company might be prepping up for the launch soon. We expect the Shotgun 650 to be launched by the mid of the year 2022. When once launched we expect the price to hover around Rs 3-3.25 Lakhs.
