Once launched, the new Baleno will rival Hyundai i20, Tata Altroz, Honda Jazz and Toyota Glanza.

Maruti XL7

Maruti tasted success with the XL6 as it is one of the most affordable 6-seater MPV in the market and is rich in features, space and comfort. For this year, Maruti might bring in XL7 that will be based on the XL6 only but will get 7 seats as standard. The captain seats in the second row will be replaced by a bench and a new upholstery design can be expected on the inside. This 7-seater MPV is expected to launch later this year.

Maruti S-Cross

This crossover was launched at the global markets recently and we can expect Maruti to bring the new S-Cross in mid-2022. It gets an all-new exterior and interior design, improved features and safety equipment. Mechanically, the 2022 S-Cross will be powered by the same 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine that generates 103 bhp with 138 Nm of peak torque. We expect the price of the new S-Cross to start from Rs 9.10 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.

Maruti Vitara Brezza

Maruti Upcoming Cars 2022

Maruti Brezza received a mid-cycle facelift in 2020 when the carmaker launched the petrol version of the compact SUV. This year, we expect all-new Brezza that will be rich in features so it strongly rivals the competition. Also, the major change will be a 6-speed torque converter that will replace the 4-speed AT. We also expect as many as six airbags with the new Brezza. The current Maruti Brezza has a global NCAP crash rating of 4 stars.

Later this year, the carmaker is expected to launch the facelifted Ciaz. With the growing competition from Honda City fifth-gen, Hyundai Verna and the upcoming Skoda Slavia, Ciaz is losing its sales by a margin. Maruti is expected to give Ciaz a mid-cycle facelift with additional features, and tweaked exterior as well as interior design. The sedan will be offered in four variants - Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha. The current price of Maruti Ciaz starts from Rs 8.67 lakh and goes up to Rs 11.66 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.

Maruti Ertiga

Upcoming cars from Maruti for 2022

The facelifted Ertiga has been spotted multiple times on Indian roads and we expect the launch to happen in March this year. The most affordable 7-seater MPV, Ertiga will get only a handful of changes on the outside. For the interior, it is expected to get an updated upholstery design and the top-spec ZXI+ variant to gain features like cruise control and wireless charging. The 1.5L engine will remain the same as before, however, the ageing 4-speed AT will now be replaced by a 6-speed torque converter. We expect the prices of the automatic variants to see a hike of at least Rs 60,000 once the facelifted Ertiga gets launched.

Maruti Jimny

First showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo, Jimny was the highlight from Maruti Suzuki. It is not clear whether Maruti will bring the 3-dorr Jimny or the 5-dorr version of the Jimny to India. The launch is expected later this year and it will be powered by a 1.5L non-turbo petrol motor. This unit is the same as seen in the Vitara Brezza and generates 103 bhp of power with 138 Nm of peak torque We expect the prices of the Jimny to start from 11 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi with 4WD offered as standard right from the base model. It'll rival Mahindra Thar and Force Gurkha.

Maruti Wagon R Electric

Maruti has been testing the Wagon R electric for quite some time now and with the country moving towards emission-free vehicles, we expect this particular model to be launched later this year. As of now, there's no official input from the company regarding the launch of Wagon R electric.

Maruti Wagon R CNG

Yes, a few days ago the CNG version of the Wagon R was spotted on the Indian roads. Maruti already provides CNG with Wagon R, however, we expect that they will now either update the 1.0L CNG with Celerio's power and torque figure or the bigger 1.2L petrol motor will be offered with CNG as an option. If it is the latter, then do expect the motor to rival Tata Tiago iCNG and Hyundai Grand i10 Nios CNG.

Maruti Dzire CNG

The Dzire CNG is long-awaited for the Indian market and once launched, it'' rival Tata Tigor iCNG and Hyundai Aura CNG. Maruti Dzire is offered a 1.2L petrol motor that generates 89 bhp with 119 Nm of peak torque. With the CNG, the power and torque figures are expected to drop by 10%. Maruti Dzire petrol is priced from Rs 6.09 lakh to Rs 9.13 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.

Maruti Swift CNG

Like the Dzire CNG, the Swift CNG is also on the cards. The Swift CNG will rival competition like Hyundai Grand i10 Nios CNG and Tata Tiago iCNG. It'll be powered with the same engine specs as the Dzire CNG. As for the prices are concerned, the CNG variants will see a hike of at least Rs 90,000 when compared with the petrol variants.
