Royal Enfield Classic 650: What To Expect?
Inspired by the cult bike Classic 350, the Classic 650 will be a bigger version of it. While the Classic 350 is popular in India as well as in some global markets, the Western markets love the bigger 650cc engine. Hence, by using the Super Meteor 650 platform, Royal Enfield is developing the Classic 650. Visible in the spy shots, it has design highlights similar to the smaller Classic 350.
It'll get a round LED headlight with tiger pilot lamps and thick telescopic front suspension. Also, the headlight cowl made of chrome is also fitted on it. The big tear-shaped fuel tank will be fitted over the 650cc engine derived from the Interceptor 650. The engine casing and dual exhaust cans will get chrome plating.
The rear profile looks similar to the Classic 350 as it gets a round LED taillight and round indicators with halogen bulbs. To maintain the Classic charm, it'll get chrome spoke rims with fat tyres. Feature-wise, it might get a semi-digital instrument console.
There are no details available about its launch timeline but as per some online rumours, it is expected to debut globally by the end of 2024. We might witness its launch in India by early 2025. The positioning of it is going to be above the Continental GT 650. Hence, the pricing can be expected around Rs. 3.50 lakh (ex-showroom). A Scrambler 650 is also planned for launch after the Classic 650.
Verdict
Royal Enfield's 650cc platform has turned the fortune for the company in the global markets like the UK. The refined and punchy engine is well suited for a classic cruiser. The Classic 650 will serve the customers looking for a retro bike with a refined yet powerful performance.
