One of the most anticipated vehicles of 2022 is Toyota Hilux which was supposed to be launched in March, however, due to the supply chain issues, the launch is now pushed towards May of this year. The bookings of the Hilux was paused temporarily in February due to the huge demand. The officials have cited that they will re-open the bookings soon.
Hilux gets a 2.8-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged diesel unit as found in Fortuner. It generates as much as 201 bhp of power on tap with a maximum torque of 420 Nm with the six-speed intelligent manual transmission and 500 Nm of torque with the 6-speed automatic torque converter.
Once launched, Hilux will be offered in two variants - Low and High. Both these trims will be equipped with high-4 and low-4 settings along with active traction control, electronic drive control, drive modes and others. We believe that the 6-speed AT will be offered in the top-spec variant only.

Feature-wise, the Hilux will be equipped with a larger touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone climate control, leatherette upholstery, cruise control, multi-function steering wheel with rake and reach adjustment and more.
Safety features on the Toyota Hilux include a tyre pressure monitoring system, ABS with EBD and ESP, multiple airbags, a high-speed alert system, front seat belt reminder, traction control and more. We do believe that because of its size, Toyota might offer a 360-degree camera with this truck.
