Volkswagen has introduced the Sport Edition of its compact SUV- Volkswagen Taigun. The reveal took place at the annual conference of the company, where 2 more editions- Matte and Trail have also been showcased. These will soon hit the showrooms for the buyers, but for now, let's look at the details and pictures of the same.
Volkswagen Taigun Sport Edition In Pictures- Exterior
This new sporty edition of its pretty well-doing compact SUV is all red with sporty accents spread across the vehicle.
At the front, the red shining paint job has sporty decals on the bonnet as well as on the side doors. The door garnish is painted in the same color scheme.
The front grille has a chrome strip running along the bonnet crease, with the headlamps assembly housing at the extreme ends. Coming to the lower bumper, a chrome lining element is present along with a silver-painted underbody diffuser at the front and rear.
The side profile houses the sporty decals with body-colored door handles and garnish. The side mirrors are blacked out to inspire a more sporty red-black combination. The functional roof rails on top in silver finish do add a bit more element.
The Sport Edition is equipped with 17-inch alloys that are dual-tone and the design imparts a sporty feel to the SUV.
On the features front, it is pretty well equipped too. Wireless Android Auto/ Apple CarPlay, ESC, TPMS, a reverse parking camera, ambient lighting, Auto headlamps with cornering function, and more. On top of this, it also sports a rear wiper with a washer along with a defogger.
Volkswagen Taigun Sport Edition Interiors
The inside screams sport with all its might. As soon as you step into the cabin, you are welcomed with a dual-tone red-black dashboard layout. The center console is outlined with red accents as well.
The leatherette seat upholstery is donned with red stitching on a black and beige back upholstery. All in all, the interiors are very well in harmony with the exteriors.
Powertrain
As for the powertrain on offer, the GT-Edge Sport Edition comes with the 1.5-liter TSI Petrol engine. It produces a peak power of 150 PS with 250 Nm of torque. The same engine is mated to a 7-speed DSG transmission only. There is no option for a manual transmission with this one. This edition will soon be making its way to hit the roads.
VERDICT- This new Sport edition is sure to attract new buyers in this segment. Although it has a separate fanbase already, these new additions will strengthen its position further in the segment.
