Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line

The upcoming Tiguan R-Line is essentially the Tiguan facelift, which made its debut for the international market in 2023. The Tiguan R Line will boast an all-new design with more modern appeal. The headlamps are now sleeker than the outgoing model, the alloy wheels boast a new design, a new LED DRL bar at the front, and a new mesh element on the front bumper grille, among other elements. The new R-Line is 39mm longer than the outgoing model, and the wheelbase is just 1mm longer.

The interior of the new R-Line will also get an updated interior with a new 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless connectivity, a 10.25-inch digital cockpit, and multiple drive modes such as Eco, Comfort, Custom, Snow, and Off-road. The dashboard will get redesigned AC vents, an illuminated panel with ambient lighting. This will be a substantial upgrade over the outgoing model in India.

The new Tiguan R-Line will be available in 6 colour options, namely Grenadilla Black Metallic, Persimmon Red Metallic, Metallic, Oryx White with Mother of Pearl Effect, Cipressino Green Metallic, Nightshade Blue Metallic, and Oyster Silver Metallic.
The upcoming Tiguan R-Line will be powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 201 bhp of power and 320 Nm of peak torque. This engine will be mated to a 7-speed DSG gearbox and will come with 4WD as standard.
Verdict
The Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line will enter the Indian market as a CBU. The brand appears set to launch the R-Line at a premium price, positioning it as its flagship SUV in India. The new Tiguan debuted in international markets in 2023, and now, India will witness the launch of its R-Line variant. However, this version will be a toned-down model in terms of performance compared to its international-spec counterpart.
