The Volkswagen Virtus will soon hit the roads in India and will be taking on the rivals like the Skoda Slavia, Honda City, Hyundai Verna, and the Maruti Ciaz. To be offered with two engine options, the new Volkswagen will be offering a strong package to those looking for a well-built, feature-rich, and powerful sedan in the segment. Having said this, the production of the Volkswagen Virtus commenced recently and here are all the details that we know so far.
For starters, the Virtus will be yet another product launched under VW's India 2.0 project and will be manufactured in the Chakan plant in Pune, India. The Virtus is based on the newly developed MQB A0 IN platform with up to 95% localization levels. Moreover, the Virtus will also boast the longest length in the premium midsize sedan segment with a length of 4561 mm while it also offers segment-best cabin and boot space. For those wondering, the boot size stands at 521 litres.

Under the hood, the VW Virtus can be had with two engine options. The first one is the 1.0-L TSI engine that will be offered with a 6-speed manual as well as a -speed automatic torque converter transmission options. The second engine on the other hand happens to be the more powerful 1.5-L TSI EVO engine with Active Cylinder Management Technology (ACT). This engine will be offered with a 6-speed manual and 7-speed DSG gearbox options.
The VW Virtus will be offered in vibrant and exciting exterior colours such as Wild Cherry Red, Carbon Steel Grey, Reflex Silver, Curcuma Yellow, Candy White, and Rising Blue. On the features front, the new Virtus will be offered with a long list of features, technology, entertainment and connectivity features. These include push-button start, a large infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, wireless charging, Bluetooth, etc. In addition to this, the Virtus will also boast other features like a large sunroof, automatic climate control, and a lot more.
