While select variants of Volkswagen Taigun now retail at a lower price tag, it is the GT Edge Plus 1.5 DSG that gets the maximum price drop of Rs. 1.1 lakhs followed by the GT Plus 1.5 TSI DSG Chrome at Rs. 1.05 lakhs difference. Apart from the above-mentioned variants, the remaining ones keep retailing at their original price.
Features
The top-tier GT Plus variants of the Volkswagen Taigun boast amenities such as a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an 8-inch digital drivers display, automatic AC, and a single-pane sunroof. Additionally, variants with added features offer electrically adjustable front seats, footwell illumination, and an upgraded sound system with a subwoofer and amplifier. In terms of safety, it offers up to six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and a rear-view camera.

Volkswagen Taigun: Powertrain
The Volkswagen Taigun SUV is available with two powertrain choices: a 1.0-litre and a 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine. The 1.0-litre engine produces 115bhp and 175Nm of torque, while the 1.5-litre engine offers a higher output of 148bhp and 250Nm of peak torque. Transmission options comprise a six-speed manual, a six-speed torque converter, and a seven-speed DSG unit, catering to various driving preferences.
Verdict
The VW Taigun is one of the safest in the country with a 5-star GNCAP rating and is also a decent seller in its class. The price drop will act as a sales booster and in an excellent opportunity to save a massive amount if you were planning to take any of these variants home.
