Yamaha Motor India has started testing the new-generation Yamaha R15 in the country. The Yamaha R15 is one of the most loved motorcycles in India and it has always set a benchmark in the entry-level Supersports category. The R15 was first launched in India in the year 2008 and the current R15 V3 was introduced in early 2018. Now, Yamaha is planning to launch the R15 V4 in the near future and ahead of its launch, it has been spied yet again.

The above-embedded video of the R15 has been uploaded on the YouTube channel, Iwan Banaran. In this video, we can see how the front fascia of the motorcycle will look like. The upcoming new Yamaha R15 V4 will take its design inspiration from the middle-weight Supersport Yamaha R7 that was recently launched in the global markets. At the front, the R15 V4 will get a sharp design with a new headlamp set-up that will house a projector unit and LED DRLs. The motorcycle will get new fairings and body panels too. At the rear, it will sport a slim design & overall, it will look very sporty.
Yamaha R15 V4 - Engine Specs and Hardware
The upcoming R15 V4 will get the same engine that also powers the R15 V3. However, it might get some minor tweaks. The R15 V3 is powered by a BS6 compliant 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine. This motor churns out 18.6 PS of power and 14.1 Nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. It gets Yamaha's VVA or Variable Valve Actuation technology too. The new R15 V4 will sport USD forks at the front and a mono-shock absorber at the rear. It will also get disc brakes at either end with dual-channel ABS and a host of new tech-savvy features too.
Yamaha R15 V4 - Launch Date and Price
The new-generation Yamaha R15 is expected to be launched in India by the end of this year. Currently, the Yamaha R15 V3 is priced from Rs 1.55 lakhs and so you expect the R15 V4 to be priced from Rs 1.65 lakhs, Ex-showroom Delhi. Are you excited about its launch?
