TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Pros

Pro 1: Reasonably Priced

The 2024 Apache RTR 200 4V is priced competitively which positions it well in its segment. The naked motorcycle offers a great performance and features at an affordable price tag. Overall, it is worth buying at a price tag of Rs. 1.47 lakh (ex-showroom). While its rival, the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 is priced between Rs. 1.42 lakh-1.58 lakh (ex-showroom), the RTR 200 4V is much better in terms of features and handling than the NS 200.

Pro 2: Decent Build Quality

The new Apache RTR 200 has a decent build quality. However, it is not the best, but a satisfying part of the motorcycle. It is worth mentioning that there are no noticeable gaps in the panels which looks good. The quality of plastic utilized for the body panels is good as well. In a nutshell, you will find out the bike's build quality delivering you a sense of satisfaction.

Pro 3: Crisp Handling and Balance

TVS Apache RTR 200 4V

The Apache RTR 200 easily manoeuvres on the city roads because of its easy handling and balance. The 200cc beast has a lightweight chassis that further improves the commuting experience and makes city driving a joyful experience.

Pro 4: Efficient Ride Modes

The 2024 RTR 200 4V features three riding modes- Sport, Urban and Rain. According to my experience with the RTR 200 4V, the provided ride models are efficient and behave well in terms of power delivery and control.

  • Urban Mode: Optimum power and control on the city roads
  • Rain Mode: Improves ABS response on wet roads.
  • Sport Mode: Delivers maximum power for highway sprinting.

Pro 5: Connected Tech

The 2024 RTR 160 brings the TVS own 'Smart Xonnect' technology that allows drives to stay connected on the go with a mobile app. The connected technology provides features such as ride-related information. It also has features such as crash detection, ride tracking and SOS.

TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Cons

Con 1: Braking Could Be Better

However, the new RTR 200 4V offers decent control on the road, but it still has a scope for a major improvement. What I felt while riding this bike was the lack of response from the braking system for the power it offers. While the ABS functions well and efficiently prevents wheel lock-up during sudden braking, the braking mechanism has room for improvement.

Con 2: Stock tyres Feel Slippery

Although the 2024 Apache RTR 200 4V comes with TVS Eurogrip, the stock tyres sometimes feel slippery on the roads while driving the motorcycle. This could be felt while driving taking sudden turns on the sports modes with the motorcycle. While you always have the option to equip your bike with better tyres, this can't be a deal breaker in front of the value that the RTR 200 4V offers.

Con 3: Uncomfortable Riding Position For Long Rides

TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Pros and cons

However, the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V provides a satisfying commuting experience. You can face difficulties while riding it for a longer duration or during long rides because of its inclined riding position. So, if you cover long distances frequently, you can go with other motorcycles in the segment.

Con 4: Doesn't Stand Out

TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Pros and cons

Despite coming decently equipped, the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V doesn't stand out in its segment. Its rivals like the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 are quite better in terms of power delivery and it also gets a liquid-cooled engine. So, it's your call to choose one between the advanced features that come with the RTR 200 and the mechanical prowess that the Pulsar NS200 offers.

Con 5: Lack of Sixth Gear Makes it Feel Lacklustre Sometimes

While the RTR 200 4V provides a convenient city ride and performs well at high speed, I felt the lack of sixth gear when I was riding this motorcycle on at high revs. Additionally, most riders complain that the RTR 200 4V creates vibrations on the high speed too which I personally didn't feel. So, if you are a passionate rider who loves higher numbers on the speedometer, this machine is not going to impress you.

Verdict

The 2024 TVS Apache RTR 200 4V impresses with its competitive pricing, decent build quality, and agile handling. It offers efficient ride modes and connected tech, but its braking and stock tires could be improved. The inclined riding position and lack of standout features might deter long-distance riders seeking more refined performance. We hope our detailed article on the pros and cons of this bike helped you to find out whether this machine is for you or not.
