2020 Hyundai i20 is the most anticipated car in the Indian market and with its new iteration, it packs in new engine options and features. What's interesting is that Hyundai plans to introduce a new base variant that is the Magna for the 2020 i20. Yes, with this step, the Era will be long gone and we expect the prices to steep up by a margin.

Unlike the top-spec variant which will get chrome door handles, this one gets body-coloured handles. Also, the ORVMs are devoid of the indicators. It does get a shark fin antenna though but then we think the India-spec model will not get this as to keep the costs low. Moving to the rear, we believe it gets LED taillights which is a better upgrade from the halogens.
The European model also gets piano black bumper coating for the rear but the base variant will not see that. Similarly, the ORVMs will be electronically adjustable but not tractable. The Sportz variant might come with this feature. Also, the top-spec model will feature dual-tone design too.
Moving to the inside then there is no touchscreen infotainment unit. It will come with a 2-DIN music system with Bluetooth connectivity. The music system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will be seen on higher variants only.

The steering wheel draws inspiration from the Creta but misses out on the flat bottom feel. Maybe the higher variants might come with a flat-bottom steering wheel. It hosts volume controls, mode selection and trip meter details. We are sure that the higher variant will get a cruise control in this one. A manual AC is observed in the base Magna variant.
The launch of the 2020 i20 is expected in late October so it goes on sale before the Diwali. Once launched, it will rival with Honda Jazz, Maruti Baleno, Tata Altroz and Toyota Glanza. It will offer several powertrains and some segment-first features.
