Toyota recently unveiled the new Innova Crysta Facelift in the South-Asian markets like Indonesia. The new 2020 Toyota Innova Crysta Facelift will be launched in India by the first half of 2021. Ahead of its India launch, the new facelifted Innova Crysta has been crash-tested by ASEAN NCAP and it has performed exceptionally well. The new 2020 Toyota Innova Crysta has bagged a full 5 Star Safety Rating in the ASEAN NCAP Crash Test.
The model tested here is the Indonesian-spec Innova Crysta Facelift and it was equipped with a 2.0-litre petrol motor. This 2.0-litre petrol engine of the Innova Crysta churns out 139 PS of power and 183 Nm of torque. It comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox only. Also, it weighs around just 1,698 kilograms and is sold in several South-Asian countries. While the India-spec model gets different powertrain, we believe the India-spec model will also perform almost similarly if it undergoes the new car assessment programs.
The Indonesian-spec 2020 Toyota Innova Crysta bagged 5-Star Safety Rating in the ASEAN NCAP Crash Test. Talking about the scores, the overall score of the Toyota Innova Crysta stands at 82.69 points. The overall adult occupant protection score is 45.90 points, child occupant safety score is 21.51 points and it scored 15.28 points for safety assist technologies. Also, the ASEAN NCAP has extended the front off-set test deformable barrier (ODB) score of the 2016 Innova to the new 2020 model as there are no structural changes.
The Innova Crysta crash-tested by the agency was equipped with dual front airbags, ABS (anti-lock braking system), ESP (Electronic Stability Program), EBD (Electronic BrakeForce Distribution) and seat-belt retractors.
