Yamaha MT 15 is a very popular naked streetfighter in India. The Yamaha MT 15 was first launched in the country in March 2019 and in early 2020, it got the BS6 update. Now, the company is all set to give this motorcycle a big update for the year 2021. The new 2021 Yamaha MT 15 will be launched in India very soon and here we have for you all the details about it.
The new 2021 Yamaha MT 15 will feature updated mechanicals. Until now, the braking duties on the MT 15 were handled by disc brakes at both ends. At the front, it used to get a 282 mm disc brake and a 220 mm disc unit at the rear. However, it only used to get a single-channel ABS as an additional safety aid. Now, the updated MT 15 will feature the same hardware but with a dual-channel ABS or anti-lock braking system as an additional safety aid.

The addition of dual-channel ABS will give this motorcycle an edge over some of its rivals which get a single-channel unit only. Also, it will surely improve the braking performance of the motorcycle by a good margin. Apart from the inclusion of dual-channel ABS, it won't get any changes. However, the company might introduce some new colour schemes. The new Yamaha MT 15 will still be powered by a BS6 compliant 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine. This motor churns out 18.5 PS of maximum power at 10000 RPM and 13.9 Nm of peak torque at 8500 RPM.
The engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and it gets Yamaha's VVA or Variable Valve Actuation technology too. The Yamaha MT 15 BS6 is currently priced from Rs. 1.39 lakhs and the new dual-channel variant is expected to be priced around Rs. 1.43 lakhs. All prices stick to Ex-showroom Delhi.
