Maruti has finally launched the CNG version of their affordable hatchback, Alto K10. The Alto K10 CNG is priced at Rs 5.95 lakh and is sold in a single variant, VXI. All prices stick to ex-showroom, Delhi. In this article, we learn everything there is to know about the recently launched, Maruti Alto K10 CNG.
This hatchback uses the same 1.0L, three-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol motor. However, in CNG form, the power is limited to 56 bhp and 82 Nm of peak torque. This engine is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox only. The ARAI-certified fuel economy of the Alto K10 CNG sticks to 33.85 km/kg which is quite good.

It is not the most fuel-efficient CNG car as that title is held by Celerio CNG(35.6 km/kg), still, given the price, one can consider this hatchback. When compared with its petrol counterpart, the Alto K10 VXI CNG is expensive by Rs 95,000.
Maruti claims that they have tweaked the suspension of the Alto K10 CNG in order to give an enhanced ride quality. Feature-wise, this car gets a 2-DIN audio system with Bluetooth, USB and AUX-in connectivity, internally adjustable ORVMs, front power windows and more.
Safety equipment on this model includes reverse parking sensors, an anti-lock braking system with electronic brake-force distribution, speed-sensing door locks, a high-speed alert system, front seat-belt reminder, central door locking, dual airbags and more.
Verdict
With the availability of the CNG model, the sales of the Alto K10 could go up for those looking for a budget CNG car. Also, as of now, there aren't any direct rivals of the Alto K10 CNG.
