2022 Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 launch is around the corner. Ahead of its official launch slated in August, the first images of the new car have leaked online.
Maruti Suzuki is on an expansion spree. The manufacturer recently launched the new 2022 Maruti Suzuki S-Presso. Additionally, the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara is going to debut tomorrow. Now, the first-ever images of the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 have leaked online. The upcoming entry-level car was spied on during the official TVC shoot.

2022 Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 Details
We've already reported the minutely known details about the upcoming Alto 800. The car was spied on a test run by our team member in Delhi-NCR recently (see here). Now, the new photos leaked online showcase to us what the new Alto will look like.
As seen in the TVC shoot, there are two different cars visible. We suspect that both of them are going to be top-end trims. Seen in various bright red and blue colours, the overall dimensions and size of the 2022 Alto look enlarged. The new Alto will be bigger than the current car.
The rear end design resembles the 2022 Maruti Suzuki Celerio. Taillights have been designed in a similar pattern as well. Although, the upcoming Alto looks more curvy and elegant when compared to the current-gen car. The glass area also seems to have grown bigger in size. This translates to us that the cabin space will feel airier in the new Alto.
The new Alto is going to feature a new chassis and powertrain. Maruti Suzuki has confirmed that it will use the Heart Tech platform on the new Alto for enhanced body strength. Although, there are a few things missing from the TVC cars. The rear windshield wiper, defogger, and alloy wheels are what we can not spot. This means even the new-gen Alto will not get these facilities.
Powertrain-wise also we expect a new K10c 1.0-Lt, Dual-Jet petrol engine might replace the existing 800 iterations. This engine has recently made its way in the new S-Presso and Celerio as well. The peak power revolves around 69 hp and peak torque around 89 Nm. A 5-speed manual, as well as a 5-speed AMT automatic gearbox, are anticipated to be offered upon the launch.

Price, Rivals, & Launch
Maruti is soon going to launch its first-ever mid-size SUV in India. To be called Grand Vitara, the new SUV will debut tomorrow. We suspect that the new Alto will launch before the launch of Grand Vitara. This translates to us that it will come any time around the end of August 2022. Expect the pricing between Rs 3-4 lakh ex-showroom. The rivals include - Renault Kwid.
