Toyota Glanza CNG will be available with a bi-fuel option that promises to deliver a stunning 25 kmpl of fuel economy. Read the details below.
Based on the underpinnings carried away from the newly launched facelifted 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Toyota Glanza CNG shall be hitting the Indian auto market in the upcoming time. Toyota is currently working on the bi-fuel option of their premium hatchback.
Toyota recently launched the 2022 Glanza hatchback at a price tag of Rs 6.39 Lakhs (ex-showroom); details of which can be read here. As their counterpart manufacturer Maruti is also working on the CNG variant of Baleno which is anticipated to launch soon, Toyota has also updated their official website with e-CNG option of the newly launched Glanza.

It is a widely accepted fact in the Indian auto market that the demand for bi-fuel engines such as the CNG has increased exponentially over time. To cater to the customers who need a more economical product, the new CNG variant would be able to deliver up to 25 kmpl of fuel economy as per the official data on the Toyota Bharat website.
Toyota Glanza currently uses a 1.2-L, DualJet, 4-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine which comprehends a peak output of 89 bhp and a peak torque of 113 Nm. Toyota currently offers two gearbox options which include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT automatic transmission to cater to the variety of buyers of the premium hatchback. This petrol engine delivers an ARAI-certified 23.27 kmpl of fuel economy.
The e-CNG variant of the Glanza is expected to use a 1.2-L petrol engine with a CNG option embedded with it. Currently, no power output figures are known for this upcoming bi-fuel engine but we expect it to be similar in terms of the specifications as to the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Baleno CNG.

Toyota offers the new Glanza in four various options named E, S, G, and V. All four variants are available with a manual transmission whilst the S, G, and V are also available with the AMT gearbox, hence making it easy for the automatic preference buyers to choose any variant according to the needs and budget constraints.
Toyota has updated the new Glanza with class-leading features such as 6-airbags, HUD display assist, 360-degree park assist camera, LED headlights with projectors as well as LED fog lights, etc. Many of these features shall be carried over on the upcoming e-CNG variant as well.
With Toyota India updating their official website with the e-CNG bio of the upcoming car, we expect the Glanza CNG to launch any time soon in the upcoming months which could be before the mid-2022 itself. For now, Glanza directly competes with the likes of Honda Jazz, Hyundai i20, Maruti Suzuki Baleno, and the Tata Altroz.
