Toyota Kirloskar Motor has introduced their mid-size SUV, Urban Cruiser Hyryder in the Indian market. It is made available in both mild-hybrid as well as hybrid powertrain options. The interesting part is that the prices of the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder Hybrid variant start from as low as Rs 15.11 Lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.

As can be seen, the Hyryder Hybrid will be made available in three variants only - S, G and V. The prices fetch from Rs 15.11 lakh to Rs 18.99 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. It is offered with 2WD configuration only.
The 1.5L TNGA motor that pumps out 91 bhp of power with a peak torque of 122 Nm while the electric motor produces peak power and torque of 78 bhp and 141 Nm respectively. The useable power and peak torque stand at 114 bhp and 141 Nm respectively. The ARAI-certified fuel economy of this engine sticks to 27.97 kmpl.

The Japanese carmaker is yet to reveal the prices of the 1.5L mild hybrid petrol motor. However, they have introduced the prices of the top-spec V AT which is the top model. It is priced at Rs 17.09 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. We can expect the starting price to be as low as Rs 9.59 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. This motor will be offered with a 2WD set-up as standard and AWD as an option.
This 1.5-litre, the mild-hybrid motor generates 102 bhp of power with a peak torque of 136.8 nm. It gets mated to a five-speed manual transmission as standard and a six-speed torque converter as an automatic.

Given the prices of the Hybrid version, it undercuts the Honda City Hybrid e:HEV by quite a margin. The hybrid sedan is priced from Rs 19.92 lakh compared to Rs 15.11 lakh for the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder Hybrid.
