Hyundai Motor Company has unveiled the facelift of the IONIQ 5 EV in the global markets. The brand has revealed the new enhanced battery capacity version and some cosmetic changes, also the IONIQ 5 now comes with a new N Line version. 2024 Hyundai IONIQ 5 Exterior Updates
The updated version of the Hyundai IONIQ 5 showcases several cosmetic updates inside and out. Exterior modifications consist of a swish V-shaped garnish and redesigned front and rear bumpers, highlighting the IONIQ 5's strong SUV look. Consequently, the length of the IONIQ 5 has been extended by 20 mm to 4,655 mm, at the same time as different outside measurements such as width (1,890 mm), height (1,605 mm), and wheelbase (3,000 mm) continue to be similar.

2024 Hyundai IONIQ 5 Interior Updates
On the inside the brand has added a new steering wheel design featuring interactive pixel lights. The cabin also gets an improved layout of infotainment and air conditioning controls for better ease of use. The company has introduced a next-generation infotainment system named connected car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC). The vehicle also supports wireless Over-The-Air (OTA) software updates.
Hyundai Motor has introduced several new safety and convenience features, these include Hands-On Detection (HOD) steering wheel, Lane Keeping Assist 2, Remote Smart Parking Assist 2 (RSPA 2), and Forward/Side/Reverse Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist (PCA-F/S/R).
It now also gets customer preference features including Intelligent Front-Lighting System (IFS), Digital Key 2, Built-In Cam 2, and second-row seat remote folding.
Hyundai IONIQ N Line
Hyundai Motor has also added the IONIQ 5 N Line in the lineup. The sporty variant is positioned between the upgraded base model and the high-performance IONIQ 5 N. The IONIQ 5 N Line features a more aggressive and sporty front and rear design, characterized by unique bumpers, stylish side skirts, and dedicated 20-inch aluminum wheels.

Inside the cabin, the N Line variant boasts an exclusive design with a dedicated N Line steering wheel and dashboard, N Line-specific metal pedals, black headliner, special sport seats featuring the N logo, red contrast stitching, and two seat covering options.
Verdict
The recently unveiled Hyundai IONIQ 5 is already on sale in international markets, while the N Line variant is currently exclusive to the Korean market. There are indications that the updated version of the IONIQ 5 could potentially be launched in India later this year. In India the Hyundai IONIQ 5 competes with the KIA EV6 and Volvo XC40 Rechrage.
