2024 Maruti Swift Surpassed 10,000 Bookings
Maruti Swift has marked its fourth generation debut in India, hitting the market with a starting price of Rs. 6.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings for the new-gen Swift kicked off on May 1, 2024, and before its official launch on May 9, 2024, the hatchback had already secured 10,000 bookings in India. Globally, the Swift nameplate has garnered a remarkable 65 lakh buyers, with over 30 lakh buyers hailing from India alone.
The latest iteration of the Swift boasts a distinct design language, featuring noticeable updates both internally and externally, as well as a revamped powertrain. The headlamps sport a distinctive L-shaped LED signature, complemented by a redesigned grille and bumper up front. On the sides, pronounced body lines add character, accentuated by the 16-inch dual-tone alloys. Towards the rear, a fresh C-shaped LED signature enhances the aesthetic, maintaining the overall familiar stance and silhouette of its predecessor.

Revamped Interior And More Features
The new Swift presents a thoroughly revamped dashboard layout compared to its predecessor with a lot more features than before. This latest iteration of the Swift boasts an array of modern tech, including a larger touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay compatibility. Furthermore, it introduces additional conveniences such as wireless charging, connected features, cruise control, rear AC vents, rear wiper and washer, all power windows, electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs, rear USB charging ports, and more.
Safety features receive a significant boost in the new Swift, with all variants now equipped with an impressive standard package. This includes 6 airbags, 3-point seatbelts for all passengers, Hill Hold Assist, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, and an Electronic Stability Program.
Maruti Swift Powertrain: Mild-Hybrid, More Mileage
The 2024 Maruti Swift introduces a new mild-hybrid powertrain, featuring a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder, Z Series petrol engine finely tuned to deliver 81.58 PS power and 112Nm of torque. Available with both 5-speed manual and AMT transmissions, the new engine returns higher fuel efficiency with a slight hit to power. With the AMT version achieving a mileage of 25.75 kmpl and the manual variant returning 24.80 kmpl, there's a remarkable 14% increase for the AMT and a 10% boost for the manual gearbox, resonating well with Indian consumers.
The updated Swift is now much better equipped to take on rivals like Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS, Tata Tiago, and some of the cross-segment rivals with similar pricing like the Tata Punch, Maruti Balneo, and more.
