2024 Maruti Swift Facelift Mileage Figures
As suspected at the global reveal, the new engine is more efficient than the outgoing model. The upcoming Swift will globally get a new 1.2-lt, 3-cylinder, hybrid petrol engine. This powertrain has been branded as Z12E motor and it'll deliver a fuel economy of 23.40 kmpl (non-hybrid) & 24.50 kmpl (hybrid). Suzuki will offer this new engine with an option of a hybrid & a non-hybrid tech. Meanwhile, the power figures of this engine are still unknown but we suspect that it'll make somewhere around 100 bhp & 150 Nm. Suzuki will also equip the hybrid variants with a new CVT transmission.
Moreover, the new engine is also said to be faster & lighter than the current 1.2-lt, 4-cylinder engine. Hence, the performance of it will also become better, especially inside the city limits. Maruti has already started testing the new model in India. There is no confirmation whether the Indian-spec model will get this new powertrain or not. The current engine already delivers good claimed fuel economy of 22.38 kmpl (MT) & 22.56 kmpl (AMT). However, if Maruti offers the hybrid motor in India, Swift will become one of the top fuel-efficient cars in India.
Verdict
As anticipated and reported online, the Swift facelift will debut in the second half of 2024 in India. With the new design, more features, & possibly a new hybrid engine on offer; its prices will also shoot up for a few thousand.
