Stellantis-owned French automaker Citroen is all set to introduce its entry-level hatchback, the C3, in India on July 20. Citroen appears to be preparing a facelift of its flagship SUV following the debut of the C3. With a revamped look and enhanced features, the Citroen C5 Aircross facelift is set to debut in September. Citroen has previously upgraded the C5 SUV for the international market, but the Indian edition was due for an update.
Citroen C5 Aircross Facelift
When it comes to the changes in the upcoming C5 facelift, the front fascia will be changed, and the split headlight unit will be gone. A single headlight unit with new horizontal DRLs will now be available at the front. The DRLs will match the grille lining, and a new faux metal skid plate accent will enhance the look of the bumper. The bumper will also boast large air dams for better aerodynamics. The SUV will get a new smoke tail lamp design at the back, as well as a new design for its 18-inch alloy wheels on the side.
The addition of a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system will be the most significant alteration on the inside. Aircon vents in the shape of rectangles will now be located beneath the screen. There will also be a new toggle switch for gears instead of a stick shifter in the center console area. Other additions will include extra USB ports, support for wireless charging, and heated/cooled seats with increased cushion foam

Currently, the C5 comes with a 2.0-litre oil-burner capable of producing 177 bhp of power and 400 Nm of peak torque. With an 8-speed automatic transmission, this engine will continue to power the Citroen C5 Aircross facelift. Citroen has phased out the diesel powertrain in the international market, and the C5 now comes with a 1.5-litre petrol engine and a petrol hybrid motor.
The C5 Aircross facelift will continue to compete with the Volkswagen Tiguan, and the upcoming Hyundai Tucson.
