CNG prices hiked again in India. It is the 7th price hike for 2022. The rates of CNG, as well as PNG, have gone up by Rs 6/kg and Rs 4/kg respectively.

If you live in or around Mumbai, here is news that is going to affect you. The CNG prices in Mumbai have gone up by Rs 6/kg. Yes, you read it right. The steep price hike has happened with the due effect of the increased input costs. The new prices are already live on all the Mahanagar CNG stations. Additionally, the PNG prices are also hiked by up to Rs 4/kg.

CNG Price Hike Reason
On October 1st, the government announced a sudden increment of raw input costs related to CNG. As per the record, a hike of 40 percent came into effect. This already meant the soon hike in CNG as well as PNG prices. Coming into effect from the night of October 3rd, Mahanagar CNG has increased the prices. Now, if you refill in or around Mumbai, the CNG will cost you Rs 86/kg. Additionally, the bi-fuel like the PNG is also revised with a hike of up to Rs 4/kg.
On October 1, the Oil Ministry hiked natural gas prices to US$ 8.57 per million British thermal units (per mmBtu) from the previous US$ 6.1. This makes for a substantial 40.50% increase, leading to the latest price hike. Additionally, the bad news extends from here. Why? Well, because the price hike is expected to happen again very soon. Yes, the prices of CNG might go upwards of Rs 90/kg in the near future; as per the reports on the internet.
Meanwhile, the most affected are going to be commercial fleet owners & drivers. The cars like the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga CNG, Celerio CNG, WagonR CNG, Tata Tiago CNG, etc., are mainly used in the taxi market. This equates that your regular cab booking cost is also going to rise soon.
