If you look at the recent trends over the past few years, it is the compact SUV segent which is on the ise in the Indian market. Ford started this trend with the Ecosport and now several carmakers are bringing in new products and ruling the market. In this, we will share you the compact SUV sales for September 2020.
The Compact SUV segment comprises of several cars like - Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, Ford Ecosport and the recently launched Kia Sonet. It is the latter which achieved more sales than ita rivals.

Now, if you look at the chart above, Kia Sonet directly wins the competition. Yes, the compact SUV was launched on September 18 but the above numbers are dealer dispatched. Also, the Sonet bookings have crossed more than 35,000 which is the highest ever in such a short duration.

Kia Sonet
Kia Sonet gets multiple engine options and top of the line 24-first in segment features. It gets front parking sensors, chrome knurling on front bumpers, air purifier with virus protection, 6-speed AT for the diesel and like this, many other features.
Maruti Brezza
Next in line is the old school, squared SUV which is the Maruti Brezza. With its petrol launch, the sales have taken a step back but still, it holds the top 3 positions in the market. It is being offered with a humble 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine which churns 103 bhp and 138 Nm of peak torque. The engine gets mated to a 5-speed manual as standard and an optional 4-speed torque converter unit.
Hyundai Venue
Hyundai Venue is Sonet's cousin as they both share the same platform and powertrain. The only difference is the exclusion of 1.5L diesel with 6-speed AT. The Venue is the most sensible buy if you are looking for an SUV with unique features, good engine and which is readily available. Its prices start from Rs 6.75 lakh and go up till Rs 11.73 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.

Tata Nexon
Tata Nexon is the second safest compact SUV in the segment which offers Global NCAP rating of 5 stars. It is also one of the most affordable SUVs to offer an electric sunroof. It gets a 1.2L turbo petrol and a 1.5L turbo diesel engine. The prices for this stick between a bracket of Rs 7.01 lakh and Rs 12.74 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. Tata offers as many as 36 variants to choose from for the Nexon.
Mahindra XUV300
The XUV300 is the most underrated and yet the safest SUV in its segment. It offers all-four disc brakes which no other vehicle offers. The prices for the same starts from Rs 7.95 lakh and go up till Rs 12.70 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.
Ford Ecosport
Ford started the trend with the Ecosport and now it retains the last position. Ford is the no-nonsense SUV in this segment offering good build quality, powerful diesel engine and value for money offering. But due to its lack of features, the SUV doesn't sell well. It did only 3558 units for last month.
