Honda Motorcycles & Scooters India is gearing for product line expansion. According to recent reports on the internet, Honda India will launch 3 new products soon. These include a 125cc scooter & two motorcycles as well. The motorcycles will launch in the 160cc category and in the 300-350cc category.
Honda India 2 New Bikes - Details
Speaking of the new launches, Honda has not been very well established in the Indian motorcycle segment. To conquer it, Honda will introduce 2 new bikes. The first one is slated for the 160cc premium commuter segment. However, the company already has the Unicorn, Xblade, & Hornet 2.0 in this segment. But, all of these models are not popular as well as low selling. The 160cc segment is largely owned by the Bajaj Pulsar N160 or the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V brands.
However, a new 160cc bike means lineup expansions. Additionally, the portfolio of the company is not strong in this segment. Hence, the introduction of a new bike will make it stronger. Meanwhile, we expect that the XBlade can be axed out due to its low sales volume. In addition to this, a 300-350cc category bike is also expected to launch.
Currently, Royal Enfield owns more than 85 percent of the 300-500cc segment sales volume. To break its monopoly, many manufacturers are trying hard. However, it is Honda that still has no solid product to compete in this segment. Recently, Honda CB300F was launched with competitive pricing. We suspect that the CB300X ADV version can be in the works to compete in this segment. However, we can not be sure about the exact product right now. More details about these bikes will uncover in the coming weeks.
New 125cc Scooter Details
Meanwhile, HMSI remains the king of the gearless scooter category in India. Its Activa 6G remains the unaltered segment leader. In fact, a premium edition was added to it recently. However, the company is working on a new 125cc scooter. We suspect that this product might use the Activa brand name. Additionally, it will offer more connected tech and features to go ahead of the competition.
However, we still do not know the exact launch time for these products. Meanwhile, we suspect that more details will be revealed around this festive season. Let us know what you think about these upcoming two-wheelers from HMSI by commenting down.
